Indeed, the number of months with
Allāh is twelve [lunar]
months in the register of
Allāh [from] the day
He created the heavens and
the earth... [At-Tauba:36]
Highlights
The
Battle of Khandaq (trench) or Ahzab took place
in the year 5 AH
The
Truce of Hudaibiyyah in the year 6 AH
Bay'at
Rizwaan (The oath of allegiance named Rizwaan)
in the year 6 AH
The Holy
Prophet
and his Companions returned to Makkah for Umrah
in the year 7 AH
Dhul
Qa'dah is taken from the word "qa'ada" which
means to sit. During its time, people used to
stop their business activities and sit and
prepare for the Pilgrimage.
The
period from the 1st of Shawwaal up to the 10th
of Dhul Hijjah is held to be the time of the
Hajj since it is permissible to perform some of
the acts of the pilgrimage during it including
tawaaf al qudum followed by Sa'ee and Umrah,
which if performed, can be affiliated to Hajj
making it Hajj of Tamattu.
Despite
the significance of this month, no specific acts
of worship are prescribed for it.
